LukeFRC
why do some of them have a different bit of wood midway between the two pickups?

Hellzero
Some new photos of the MP 524 from 2008. It has these very rare features for a Leduc : A very rare two pieces book matched flamed ash body with a quarter sawn Canadian hard rock maple set neck (stopping at the bridge) and a very thick Para rosewood (Dalbergia Spruceana) fingerboard that is very close to the usual Brazilian rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra) sound wise. It also has an optional nitro finish to let the wood resonate. Another interesting feature is that what seems to be an headstock veneer is in fact the extension of the thick fingerboard itself.

greenolive
I’ve always wanted to try a Maurad Marc , I happened upon this one on Reverb and the seller was only 30mins drive away ! This is the first Leduc bass I’ve managed to find in the uk ( they usually come from the Belgian , German , UK triangle - courtesy of Tony & Christoph ) Sadly I couldn’t find any more , if there was I would’ve bought more 🤦♂️😂 If you see one don’t hesitate ( just a killer bass ) as most Leduc’s are! 2

DaPhonque
dear Leduc Community, Hellzero invited me to show my Love here. I ordered my Masterpiece 5 fretless in 1999, and can still remember the lucky day Christophe told me that I could pick her up. I kept it all passive. A real candy is the (now) 120 years old rio rosewood fretboard! That was such a nice day, driving to Christophs luthier-shop near Metz (before his move). Since then it's my favorite Bass, in sound, ergonomy - unbeatable. So enough talking here are some pics. LeftyJ
I love that, but not the control plate. Weird mix of well thought-out design and afterthought. Otherwise that's one beautiful bass!
greenolive
It was modified by Christophe, He had to get around the original design , & went from this :- To this :- And I love it !
greenolive
Lovely masterpiece DaPhonque 👍 Love the grain in the bubinga , I wish I kept hold of the HMP528SF, but I’m not really a fretless player , sure @alaink is still loving it . Thank you Greenolive. Yours (or the one wich was yours before) is also beautiful. 😍 I guess it's a few years older than mine, the Design changed a little bit. also passive? Now I wouldn't want the fret lines anymore, but when I ordered mine I was quite a fretless beginner, and had to jump right into recordings - so the fret lines were really needed by me back then. My absolute dream would be to have just the same one with frets.

Indeed, but also remember that Christophe Leduc is a graduated architect, so finding solutions to a problem is something he is accustomed too. 😉
