Paul S Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I had a 70s Faker last year. I loved it to bits but it was way too heavy for me to keep. However it seems my Ric itch still needs to be scratched but perhaps not to the extent of forking out for a proper one. I understand that the Renegade basses, like much of the Retrovibe gear, are excellent value for money. I have some questions for owners if you'd be so kind as to help. How heavy are they? That is the biggie, really. Or, hopefully, the smallie. Do they upgrade easily with the Ric pickups David has on the website? And, if so, do they sound anything like a Ric? Muchas gracias muchachos y muchachas! Quote

Luggage scales are showing just 6lbs for mine 🙂 Afraid I can't comment on replacing the pickups or sounding like a Ric . Bought one of David's cast offs , just an MM at the bridge so nothing like a Ric 😀 1 Quote
Paul S Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 Thanks Davie. 6lbs sound marvellous! Quote
kodiakblair Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 You're welcome Paul. Owned quite a few Retrovibes but just the one Renegade , none of them have been particularly heavy. Thinner body of the Renegade may account for some weight loss 👍 1 Quote
Paul S Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 I have just the one - so far? - a short scale 50s slab bodied precision with scaled down body. Under 7lbs and a lovely thing. 1 Quote
