Always find it mildly annoying when people say "fixed for you".....so how about "tampered with for you"? However, to labour an earlier point.... if someone has an orange 414 some of us with dicky hearing and a general lack of subtlety might contend that that is as much Yamaha PJ as any hopelessly addicted flibbertigibbet bass tart could ever want. And therefore viva la difference......
ead
Not 100 clear if you're asking us to vote for the one you should keep (what I have assumed) or the opposite. Two reasons: Can't imaging you keeping a Fender over a Yamaha Not mad keen on binding
oakforest5961
Does it really matter what they sound like acoustically? If it looks ok, and it feels ok, then "sounds phenomenal plugged in" says everything, that's what a solid body electric bass is for after all.

Yeah, I suppose the “acoustic” test relates to feedback in the left/fretting hand - which is all part of the experience. no what effect that has on the plugged in tone is down to which side of that particular fence you sit on. I know where I sit, so I’m putting the tin opener away. I’m very distracted by new arrival though.
Paul S
Easy choice for me as the BB would be heavier. if it managed to be somehow around 8lbs then the BB would win by some margin.

hiram.k.hackenbacker
I really couldn’t decide without playing them, although I have a fairly good idea what each would sound like. Based on looks alone, I’d go Yamaha.

PatrickJ
After having the pleasure of hearing the Sabre in action I have a definitive answer / suggestion. Sell both, the Sabre looks as good as the Aerodyne and sounds fabulous. The Sabre visually and sonically suits your band really well too so it's a bass that should be well used Selling both would cover the cost, or give you enough for a second Sabre as a backup for when the 602 start touring the new EP!! Edit - just seen the weight of the Sabre in the other thread -- ooof. That would be a consideration for me. theyellowcar
Keep the Yamaha. It seems to me that selling it would be more of a “one way door” than the Aerodyne, which are rare, but not prohibitively so.
AndyTravis
Going to order strings tomorrow, the Sabre came with stainless steel 45-105 which aren’t my cup of tea.
Eldon Tyrell
Sell the BB1600. I know, after some time, you will regret it (and, deep inside, you know it too) and then you will go on the hunt for another one. What can be cooler than going on the hunt? Enjoy! 🙂
Chiliwailer
Something tells me this is more a case of ‘which to sell first’… 😊 …I’ll leave exhibit A below, from a recent post of yours about basses in and out this year: Tune TXJ-4 in and out Dean edge pro in and out Yamaha bb350f x 3 in and out Yamaha Bb424x x 3 in and out Yamaha bb450 in and out Yamaha bb1300 in and out Yamaha bb300 in and out Yamaha SB-55 in and out Spector Euro LX in and out Yamaha Pacifica (one in, one out) Yamaha AEX in and out Alvarez Baritone in and out cordoba classical in and out Tobias Toby Pro in and out (tomorrow) Sadowsky HPJ out ebs 410 out ebs Reidmar out Yamaha bb1600 in Fender Aerodyne in Musicman Sabre in Fleabass (green toy thing) in Ashdown mk500 in Vanderklay 212 in ahem. I think that’s about right. Edited December 21, 2021 by Chiliwailer 1
AndyTravis
@Chiliwailer to be fair it’s in keeping with a lot of other posts on the same thread… I don’t have enough space (4 kids/2 cats) to keep them all. And I won’t keep stuff for keeping’s sake… I genuinely only regret 2 or 3 sales. And even then…I probably wouldn’t play them. Wood and strings, not friends, not family - I still baulk when people name basses…
Bridgehouse
I’m quite liking the fact that retailers are now getting us to vote on what they sell us next.
Bridgehouse
(Hee hee, only joking - got to be both because otherwise you’re just delaying the inevitable. You never offer the option for something you actually want to keep)
