shoulderpet
Hi Am after some suggestions for a decent overdrive pedal for under £100 (if possible), im crap at describing sounds so I will just use a link to the video below to show the kind of tone I am after, listening to the song it is overdriven but it is not over the top in your face fuzz, thanks [Youtube
Boodang
So, two things... the MXR fuzz deluxe is apparently based on a vintage fuzz and would do you admirably (as it happens I have one for sale on BC but that's not the only reason I've suggested it... honest!). The TC Electronic spectradrive is also good, apart from the 4 band eq and toneprint compressor, it has a toneprint overdrive with loads of presets to choose from. Doddy
The Earthquaker Devices Plumes is a really good overdrive for around £100 new.
Downunderwonder
Sounds like a bridge pickup being hard picked and not a whole lot of pedal just a little jûs of drive.
Lozz196
TC Spark Booster, new rounds and dig in hard. I think much of that sound is how it`s played, as @Downunderwonder says. I`d bet if that bass with the same gear was played softly there wouldn`t be a smidging of overdrive heard.
Downunderwonder
Yep. I don't play with a pick but I can get close to that by digging in extra hard with fingertips closer to the bridge, without touching a knob, so long as I have a drive pedal that is touch sensitive to give it the jûs. Just googled this pedal and it sounds like a winner, thanks for the suggestion Edited December 24, 2021 by shoulderpet
