bubinga5
Got me some rusty ones. Any idea how to clean them without getting the Dremel out.?
Happy Jack
Always thought that Rusty Polepiece was sadly under-rated as a bassist. 1
ezbass
I assumed it was a euphemism.
Bunion
Cover them up with black electrical tape, stops the clacking and hides the Shame…
Grimalkin
Depends on how much, I bought a bass a while back that had some corrosion on the back pickup poles. I managed to get it off with a coarser microfibre cloth and some thumb pressure.
gary mac
Kitchen silver foil, nicely scrunched up and rubbed on the offending pieces works well.
Lfalex v1.1
Fairly sure I used brasso on a cotton bud to good effect on some Musicman HB sized ones. Tip to prevent recurrence- once clean, put a coat of clear nail varnish over them. I myself favour Max Factor Diamond hard.. Stub Mandrel
If you've ever struggled to de-lacquer bass components (I have) to clean them, Windsor & Newton do a gloss spray for artworks that dissolves in white spirit. I've used it to protect clean and polished brass on a Westone and it would also be idea as an easily reverisble protection for piole pieces
