No bass related acquisitions, but my wife got me this affa fine whisky (an exclusive bottling for the local whisky shop):

Excuse the stock image, but I'm feeling lazy.  Had a nip of it last night while watching Die Hard and it's lovely - she picked a belter of a dram.  Yippee ki yay!

Plan was no more buying of anything , double for anything bass related.

Two things foiled the plan.

1. @Paul S posting his cracking Retrovibe 30" scale slab body P-bass 🙂

2. Wee Sis putting some cash in my card.

While browsing for parts , Retrovibe is sold out leaving me no option bar build one, this turned up for £50. TBH the work involved turning this into a slab body is nuts , would be quicker and easier doing the body from scratch.

Doing things from scratch is overrated 🤣

Great.

Not content with thicknessing the body to lose the forearm cut then add a top ; now I've a reduced 51 tort plate to cut from scratch.

Tough crowd 🤣

It's only a small thing, but I got a TC Electronic Unitune Clip. Puts the Snark tuner I've been using for the last ~10 years to absolute shame. It's so good with a low B! It's a really nice upgrade.

To paraphrase Eva Green in Casino Royale, “There clip on tuners and then there are clip on tuners, TCs are the latter.”

Finally got some new strings for my Yamaha TRB 6ii. Trying these Pitbulls out. Got tired of looking for a set of Elixirs.

Great service too. Ordered and delivered in less than 24 hrs, despite Royal Mail’s best attempts to not deliver even with Next Day Guaranteed service.

Just have to get around to fitting them now...

Got a wee bit of cash so bought myself a Warwick Gnome, the base model. I will take the headphone out into my mixer for some silent practice. Might even use it if I ever get any gigs in the future or use the di out into my RCF, like a pre amp pedal.

Should be here Wednesday.

Well the Warwick Gnome arrived today exactly in the DPD time window. Whoopeee!!

Opened it up and found a Euro 2 pin cable and plug. Boooo!! :angry2:

I believe thats its illegal to sell an item for UK use and not supply a 3 pin UK plug so have sent off a rather terse e mail to Andertons to get it sorted. I know this happens with Thomann but they usually supply a adaptor or the correct cable. Normally it wouldn`t be a problem but due to some coming`s and going`s I don`t have one.

Ordered on Christmas morning and hopefully arriving tomorrow.

Don't you be coming round these parts with your fancy 6 strings! We're a simple folk, with low end needs.
