Shoreline Gold always looks ‘right’ on a J style bass. I’m not normally a fan of gold (except on Les Pauls) but Shoreline really works IMO.

Especially since Shoreline Gold looks more like silver.

Of course, Fender often has a problem when coming up with appropriate finish names.

Firemist Silver? 

More like Metallic LPB.

Sonic Blue?

They should rename it Barely Blue!

They would have originally been silver - but when doing a relic style the yellowed top coat makes it look green blue.

Funnily enough, the original Cadillac Sonic Blue paint was sort of this colour:

Definitely!

I know what a yellowed clearcoat can do.

The one on the left is transparent black...I've been hoping to find another one like it for six or seven years.
