Failed spectacularly, having bought a Cali76, Protection Racket case, a new acoustic guitar, and bought and sold a Yamaha five string bass.

Also sold my Genz Benz 2x12 cab and a fender valve amp that was gathering dust so I’m going in the right direction overall.

Oh no. One last dance with danger. Trip to Glasgow, 28th December. I could stay out of Guitar Guitar, but what fun would that be?

I failed.  I had perfectly decent gear at the start of the year. Everything I needed but I still bought two Fender P basses and a Darkglass vintage overdrive.

I did sell a Sterling Ray34 and Epiphone Thunderbird vintage pro.

I regret selling the Thunderbird, it sounded amazing. Its with the current Hawkwind bassist now so I'm sure I'll see it played properly at some point.

I've got some lovely gear now and fully intend to finish off my long term projects next year. I'll be buying some bits and pieces to finish the projects but apart from that I'll be selling rather than buying.

I don't think I bought anything bass related this year, though I did sell a couple of pedals and a bass. I am hoping to buy another bass early in 2023 though and some heavier gauge strings so I can tune it to D standard.

If you were looking for a way to slow down, I could recommend ordering a G&L. I placed an order on 2 March 2022 and still have no reasonable hope of even perhaps receiving it until I'm within spitting distance of the first anniversary. And since I paid for it in full in August, the temptation of foolishly spending my money elsewhere has not had the chance of even presenting itself. All in all, very satisfactory 😬

There was a Monique preamp in the TalkBass Classifieds last night. First reply was within five minutes of the original post. Sold.

I probably would have gone for it providing the seller would do Canada. Perhaps 23 will be the year for Monique.

He’s very germ phobic- he might have to leave it in the garage for a few days of decontamination….
