Went to L&M this morning , ordered a couple of sets of shortscale flatwound strings and bought a cable.

Pretty good.

I'm going to start 2023 with good intentions. The plan is to sell a bunch of instruments and try not to buy any more.

I failed big time in 2022 and even managed to get an additional purchase in before the end of the year. In my defense Andertons listed the FSR bass VI in Lake Placid Blue at £70 off in their sale so it really would have been rude not to.

I have all the basses and gear I need.

But do I have all the basses and gear I want?

Of course not, why are you even asking?

Late to the thread, sorry guys.

I am starting my 2022 GAS refusal right NOW!

Best steer clear of the for sale section for the next 6 hours or so ;) .

I went to BassDirect today to get it out of my system, came back with a 2nd hand bass and preamp for my RBX6JM. I managed until March this year, I am aiming for April this time.

@AndyTravis can attest to my willpower.

Well, yesterday I bought the Schecter SLS Evil Twin bass I was after, so excepting a set of heavy gauge strings, I should be new gear free in 2023. I also got a huge discount on the Evil Twin thanks to the January sales. Seriously, £460 off! I do have 2 or 3 things to sell next year so maybe I'll have a negative acquisition for the year.

Anyone starting a 2023 thread so I can join it and fail miserably ?

There's one up now, it's early days, but it's looking like 2023 is going to be the year of buying as much as possible!! 🤣

Can we get a final scores on the doors for this thread then wrap it up?

I made it, albeit with a withdrawal soother gift in August courtesy of a very generous and amazing wife. I am a lucky man.

I was out after Origin Effects brought out the BassRig. Then I decided to compound my failure by picking up a '73 P-Bass, as an early 50th present to myself. To top it all off, I thought I'd better try a short-scale, to see what all the fuss was about.

I was out in March, after buying an Ibanez SRF705, which was the bass I said I'd make an exception for. Although I also bought an Ibanez EHB1265, and a Batking bass uke, just to make sure my defeat was a proud one.
