I'm assuming this has been corrected as it's on at £500 now.

Zero feedback seller though. So I'd still be wary.

£500 is more realistic but yes I’d be wary given the lack of feedback and the daft price of the original listing.

Looking more closely at it it is a very early Marathon Mk I. These basses have the extra large pickup route under the scratchplate as they are made up from remainder Hayman body and neck parts. The trussrod access is located under the little serial number plate you can see beneath the neck plate. A warning as these can be difficult to adjust and can easily seize or be badly worn.  Hayman type necks are much chunkier than those on later Shergold basses. That said this is my favourite style Marathon bass. My first full scale bass was like this and we added a Dimarzio Jazz bass to it. Great sound and feel.

@Bridgehouse

If anyone bids from here and wins - I’ll happily collect.

I’m keeping an eye on it, been infatuated with them for a while, not sure if I’d use it.

£500 would be my limit for a random purchase, I suspect £650 is the reserve…

Quick pm to seller. "I've got 500 sovs burning a hole in my pocket and I'm 10 minutes away". 😉

Gutted I missed out on the white one Clarky was selling recently.

Not sure I’d use it much but I’ve played a few and really liked the feel/look.

Think this is near me.

Need to stop looking

Mine is going back up FS as I still have too many basses (I know). One BCer had first dibs but hasn't been on the site since Sunday and not replied to my PM so I am not sure if he is still interested?

Edit: the BCer concerned had COVID this week, which means I am going to hold fire on putting mine up FS. Only fair to the poor dude

See how you go…

Must admit, the romanticism of a local bass rescue may have been gas fuel.

I’m meant to be selling 😂

I suppose another 24 hours before the “Gear Abstinence” Rules kick in 🥴
