MkBass
Hi all, I am in my final year studying for my BA Hons in Professional Musicianship and as part of my studies I will be take a deep dive into walking bass. At the moment I am seeking resources such as instructional books/dvds, youtube videos, songs, transcriptions of walking bass lines etc. and thought I would do a post on here to see if anyone would be happy to share any resources they found particularly insightful and beneficial when studying walking bass? I'm hoping to use what I've learnt to create walking bass lines for my own compositions so any help/advice on that would also be greatly appreciated! Richard R
Welcome aboard Max. Search the forums, plenty of advice and threads. A 2 min search came up with these threads: Post a bit more about yourself in the intro, and then ask in the theory forums. You'll get lots of helpful suggestions. And if you post back other resources you have found then even better 😉
lownote
Scott Devine has posted useful tutorials on simple walking bass in the public domain. Google for Scott or SBL and walking bass. He does more in depth stuff but it's behind a pay wall.
