jd56hawk Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Macro photo of gelatinous slime.....plasmodial zycogastria, caused by hyperhidrosis. Sure, it makes sliding much easier, but it will negatively effect your tone! Quote

Newfoundfreedom Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 There's that word "clean" again. I'm really not understanding a lot of these threads. 2 Quote

Trueno Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I’m so glad I stopped licking my strings… filthy habit. 1 Quote
Doctor J Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 There was someone on the forum here who posted a pic of their Ibanez many years ago. It had really old Elixir strings on it and the coating had degraded to such an extent that it looked like they were coated in white fur and were ready to go and live in the forest 😂 1 Quote
Dom in Dorset Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Boil your strings but don't use the water to make tea afterwards. 1 Quote
Jason Karloff Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Probably preferable to all those fruit teas. 1 Quote
dclaassen Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I have never actually boiled strings. Maybe I don't have that much oil on my skin or something, but strings seem to last forever for me.... Quote

Jason Karloff Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Aww a modern reference? Err. Ted Lasso? He didn't invent the lasso right? And Mr Bolas invented the Bolas in South America? 🤔😝 Quote

It took ages, left a stain on the pot I used and one of the strings broke when I tried to fit it back on the bass. The rest sounded just as crap as before within a couple of days. Quote

Geek99 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I spent 7 weeks living in the US when our little one popped out early on holiday - we saw a whole different side of Florida Quote
SteveXFR Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I've done tests to see whether these manky strings are good for metal and the results were very specific, they only worked for sludge metal 3 Quote
