fretmeister Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I'm specifically looking for a slot load replacement bridge for my American Special P bass. I am not looking for a high mass bridge or anything like that as I'm perfectly happy with a BBOT type bridge, but I do change strings quite a lot depending on what I'm playing / recording etc and when I'm putting used strings back on, a slot loading bridge is far less faff as I don't have to unwind the coil of string that was round the tuning head just to get it through the hole. I think the Hipshot B style will fit on the Fender Special without any difficulties - but are there any other options? As close to a BBOT in terms of weight as possible would be good. ta Quote
TheGreek Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 One of these? https://richtonemusic.co.uk/fender-himass-4-string-bass-bridge-assembly-with-zinc-saddles-chrome/?gclid=CjwKCAiAz--OBhBIEiwAG1rIOo8cJhkCCbkmjA-Kw9migRFGR91R1fkRjDYImsQc5i3VE4Jjs_y87hoCh8oQAvD_BwE Quote
BigRedX Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Surely the simplest thing would be to modify the existing BBOT bridge to be slot loading? A couple of hours work with a junior hacksaw and some files should do the job. 1 Quote

It's already the heaviest bass I play by far Quote
