Preamp  could be fitted in any bass with the same number of holes, ( if drilling more holes isnt wanted )

what does the switch do? It looks like a fully passive loom (no power).

Its an active/passive switch.  The bass i bought it for was already active

How do you wire it to the active side of things?

Sorry, I'm having some difficulty picturing this. I'm interested because I've got a couple of basses that need some attention and I'm trying to figure out whether this would be useful for me.

I'm dumb and dumber when it comes to electronics,  hence getting KiOgon build me this. 

 

Someone will hopefully come along and tell you how its done.  In my limited knowledge, the black battery wire can be earthed to the jack earth or back of a pot with other earths.

 

The red live i assume would go to your preamp circuit board ?    Need a techy to answer really
