Old Horse Murphy Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 My Blue Monday wasn't too bad and I also discovered that my latest blue purchase shares the same birthday as me (sadly not the same year!) Ā Ā 6 Quote

Eldon Tyrell Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 Continuing with the blue theme, here's a song from a cool band that recently returned after a 10-year hiatus. Check it out! Ā Ā Quote

Nail Soup Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Blue Monday - didn't fully appreciate it at the time (not punk enough probably). But now bloody love it , and it still sounds pretty fresh. I recently saw a pretty good YT vid of the making of the song.... sharing it here: Ā 1 Quote

Rich Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 NO's Blue Monday was released when I was in the upper 6th at school, the final year of my A levels. Unfortunately one of the lower 6th was a big NO/Joy Division fan and played the Blue Monday 12" over and over and over and over and over and bloody over again in the 6th common room. I suppose it made a change from all the Fad Gadget crap he usually assaulted us with, but he still managed to make me so sick of hearing it that I've never listened to it all the way through since.Ā 1 Quote
Grimalkin Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I thought I saw an opportunity at the time so I sent off a demo to EMI, with a working version of my song: Purple Thursday. Alas, it was rejected. Who could possibly dislike a song about gathering blackberries on a 'pick your own' farm. Miserable gits. 2 Quote
Rich Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Yes, my Turquoise Tuesday fell on similarly deaf ears. Philistines, the lot of 'em. Quote
Newfoundfreedom Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 As did my Sh#tty Saturday.Ā Ā No accounting for taste I suppose.Ā Quote

Ā For the many who live a life of continual inexplicable emptiness and misery, there is certainly no need for a Depressive's Christmas, as it were. Ā Ā Yep, fantastic song but the day itself is makey-uppy (https://www.badscience.net/2009/01/part-432-in-which-i-get-a-bit-overinterested-and-look-up-waaay-too-many-references/) 2 Quote
