bobbajobb
Hi! I've got a Ray25 that doesn't seem to be bucking my hum. I've got a consistent buzz, that is not related to touching strings, is boosted when I boost treble, and can be nullified if I stand at a very specific angle in my living room. It happens constantly in our rehearsal studio too I have: Checked all grounding (a-ok) Shielded control and pickup cavities Checked battery etc etc My thoughts are now that it is to do with the pickup. I tested both coils with the screwdriver on pole piece method - all good, so the coils themselves are fine. Could a magnet be potentially flipped? I was looking into how to do this but only videos for guitar are on youtube. I also saw this video ( ) and it looks like magnets for stingrays are glued, whereas on guitar videos they just slide in and out - so not sure what to do. It's not an issue for live but I can't record like this...was considering taking it to a tech but the cost would probably be more than the pickup itself is worth. Happy to provide any more info or pics etc. Thanks for any help
bobbajobb
Update... I've held a magnet over each coil (didn't touch at all). One coil repels and one coil attracts, so I'm officially stumped
