Haven’t picked it up yet. Going there in the morning. Probably won’t get to play it properly until the evening though.

Make sure you wash your hands well before entering the Holy of Holies and picking up that magnificent instrument.

It's a joy to absorb that first sight of your new "Babe"

ENJOY

Lovely.

Are those 50-110s?

Chromes 50-105. Played them for years before messing about with other strings (currently Labellas). Quite looking forward to going back to them.

Wot! No pictures!!!! 😀

I posted two yesterday.

I’ve literally not had a moment to play it since picking it up. Really busy weekend. I went straight from Jon’s to a meet-up with a guy about a potential future music tech collaboration and am only just on my way home now. Pictures will follow when I get time to have a proper play.

As weird as this may sound, I’m considering selling this lovely bass. I have three P basses and the other two are the same model as each other with 41mm nuts (one flats, one rounds), so perhaps it makes sense to just keep those as swapping between them is easier due to the spacing being identical. And ironically, after years of wanting a P with a narrow nut, I’ve actually come to enjoy the slightly wider spacing. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I also would like to have a Musicman again.

I’m finding this interesting to read. I coughed up my money to Jon nearly 3 years ago and unless I press him repeatedly via email I get no updates whatsoever and I’ve no indication that my bass is close to completion. It’s really disappointing because I’ve had something from him before and the level of service wasn’t like this.

Sorry to hear that. Mine took about 14 months. I think he got a lot more orders since 2020 and beyond so has been incredibly busy. (He probably had to squeeze in postponed building course participants too.) I did have to ask for updates but he was usually pretty responsive to emails. I think it was Tuesdays and Thursdays that he dedicated to answering them.
