scoobystig Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 As the title please how can I get close to the sound of the bass in the verses of this track please thanks Quote
chris_b Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) The bass in the video is a 5 string Warwick. They are using a 5 string on the record. It might be the same bass, but who knows. Contact the band and ask the question. Edited January 23, 2022 by chris_b Quote
RhysP Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 When I took my stepson to see them a while ago the bassist was using Spectors. I'm pretty sure he also had a Spector signature model at one point, so possibly a Spector...? Quote
Grimalkin Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 He's using some kind of envelope filter as far as I can tell: 1 Quote

You usually tell you to nip down the shop for twenty Bensons and a loaf of bread before saying jack. 1 Quote
mcnach Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 It sounds a lot like an EHX Bassballs, with the drive engaged. 1 Quote
CookPassBabtridge Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 He does indeed use a signature Spector these days, but looks like it’s a 5 string Streamer Stage II in that vid. Quote

Dan Dare Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Given that the recording is a mega-bucks production, made in a very pricey studio operated by expensive people at the top of their game, the answer is "heaven knows, but you aren't likely to get it with the average gigging amp and a stomp box". SteveXFR Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 To replicate it you'll need a multi million dollar recording studio. There's probably $10,000 dollar compressors and even more expensive preamp. Its probably multi tracked and multi amped and the bassist was probably trying to drown out Chad's awful, droning vocals. 2 Quote
