I just signed up for tidal last night (ended my paid Spotify a while back because I find the app incredibly buggy), currently £1 for three months or something daft.

I'm lost as to why more people aren't using Tidal.

 

I got it when it was more expensive, but now that its the same price as a lossy Spotify subscription, why stick with Spotify?  Tidal has more content, more exclusive content, videos, slicker interface and of course has lossless music as standard. The daily mixes algorithm works much better on Tidal for me as well.  Spotify is honestly garbage in comparison, and they've got themselves in a right pickle, promising HiFi but left it too long, and now they'll have to give it for free.

I tried Tidal for a while - great sound quality, but not as comprehensive a range as Apple Music, nor (and this is what killed it for me) did it really work at all via CarPlay. Ended up using Apple Music in the car and Tidal at home for a while. Maintaining 2 was too much bother. Cancelled Tidal.

I get Tidal free with my mobile phone contract and it's brilliant! Plus they pay substantially more to the artists than Plopify.

I had a tidal trial at one point and it was ok, but I have apple music and again for me the integration with the phones / computers / car etc is pretty important to me.

Still, at least apple music aren't too far down the paying out chart (over double spotify and 2/3 of tidal).
