Here we have an absolutely immaculate Guy Pratt "Betsy" bass. The bass belongs to my dad, and I'm selling it here for him. Bought brand new last year and has hardly been used since, the bass comes with the original gigbag, and he even still has the original shipping box, so postage is possible too. The only reason for the sale is he's just bought an early 70's Rick and needs to recoup some of the cost!

Here are the specs:

BODY Classic Burgundy Mist finish, with period-accurate, mint-green scratchplate

NECK Satin finish Bass Centre "Super Slim Sixties"® maple neck with Maccasar ebony fingerboard

PICKUPS EMG Active J pickups

BRIDGE Retro roller bridge with knurled saddles for string width adjustment

HARDWARE Engraved Chrome Neck Plate, Chrome Control Plate, Vintage style Black Control Knobs

EXTRAS Bass Centre padded gig bag

I've played it and it's a wonderful instrument. Some great tones to be had, and plays really nicely. Weighs in at just over 9lbs.

These are £600 odd new, and this is as new, so save yourself a few quid!

Lovely bass and a silly question from me - Where does the battery go for the active pickups?

GLWTS

In the control panel cavity, just like on the original Betsy.

These are really great players, I’m not a Jazz guy at all but they are well put together and sound great. Look stunning in the flesh too.

GLWTS.

Nice. Looks a lot more red than the one I saw at the shop. Did they change the paint?

It’s just the photo really, It’s a lot more orangey in real life.

Bass Collection basses are excellent and don't really get the love (or command the price) that their quality deserves

Completely agree! Got two that live in the van.....over 250 gigs with them and never let me down....punch well above their weight!

Someone will get a great instrument here.

Totally agree. I’ve got a Detroit bass and it gets more gig time than my more exotic basses. Seriously considering a bass collection jive bass… plus a Bruce Thomas, if it wasn’t so orange…

Great bass! I gigged mine for a year until I went with P basses, but would happily go back to Betsy in the future.
