BassAdder60
On my Fender PBass I have the pickups as recommended with a slant to match the neck profile etc Noticed the Squire Classic Vibe had the pickups set flat and even after adjusting they didn’t change much in string volume or tone How do you have your PBass pick ups adjusted and why ? OliverBlackman
Always had them slanted because that’s how it came both out the box and when I had the pickups replaced. My guess is that’s what helps boost the mids
bloke_zero
I have them quite a long way from the strings as I prefer the tone. The standard is depress each string at last fret and measure the distance from the pickup. Fender standard is 1/8inch, I have my 3-4mm. That gets you the slant as you're measuring the string depressed so it follows the fingerboard.
SurroundedByManatees
I have them slanted, adjusted to the string heights/curve. I don't measure but just use my ears. I put the pickup as close to the strings as possible, but where the strings do not touch the pickup while playing and no weird sounds or distortion occur.
