fleabag Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Clever playing. In fact he's excellent and it's just an experiment, so i'm not gonna slag him. I cant see me bothering though 10 Quote
jd56hawk Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 (edited) Sorry, doesn't sound like a bass. Not even close. Jolly good guy, though. Edited February 6, 2022 by jd56hawk 1 Quote
Cato Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 (edited) I enjoyed that. Nice mellow tone somewhere between a guitar, a bass and a banjo. Although the guy is so far above my level of ability I'll not be switching the strings on my fretless to emulate him anytime soon. Edited February 5, 2022 by Cato 1 Quote
Pea Turgh Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Wow. Off to sulkily pluck “another one bites the dust” and pretend I didn’t hear that acrobatic madness. 6 Quote
BreadBin Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 That's really good, I like how much he appears to be enjoying it. Quote
fleabag Posted February 5, 2022 Author Posted February 5, 2022 A whacky experiment , nothing more, and no one is likely to play like that in a band sitch. Though never say never. Reminded a bit of the Vigier that Govan played about 10 years ago but with less strings 1 Quote
Grahambythesea Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 It’s interesting and very melodic. Tapping on an unmarked fretless takes some doing. 1 Quote
mep Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Charles is great. I've been subscribed to his channel for a while and have really enjoyed all his videos. 1 Quote

chyc Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Great vid. The tone reminds me of a Jess Schmidt, which is understandable given Jeff was playing a piccolo bass. 1 Quote
fleabag Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 A Pedulla Buzz is it ?. Fab bass ! 1 Quote

fleabag Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 Jeeeez. There's always one. It was just an experiment. Some guy messing around for the sake of it. He didn't string it with guitar strings to make it sound like a bass. He would have strung it with bass strings if he wanted it to sound like a bass. Have a Millers or something and relax. 2 1 Quote
jd56hawk Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) It's a simple observation, but I guess only certain opinions count, right? Other than that, it's certainly no different than a piccolo bass, so... (Edited, my initial post if that helps.) Edited February 6, 2022 by jd56hawk Quote

fretmeister Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Michael Manring has been using piccolo strings for years on his Hyperbass There's a quick explanation and then a tune Quote
fretmeister Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 And an explanation of the Hyperbass itself 1 Quote
danny-79 Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I’m feeling so much better about my own abilities now.... not ! Highly depressing great video, that’s some serious chops ! 1 Quote
