petecarlton Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 I wanted a small cab to go with my tiny Gallien-Krueger MB200 head. Of course, I would have liked a Barefaced or a Phil Jones but, funds being what they were, I eventually opted for an Ashdown OR-110. Some of the usual suspects had this for around £280 or so (e.g. PMT £285) and it's listed on the Ashdown site at £295, but I found it on Musik-Produktiv in Germany at £169, including VAT and customs charges. It arrived today and it's clearly the same product... or am I missing something? Any ideas? 3 Quote
Merton Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Definitely the same product; seems a bargain to me! 1 Quote
petecarlton Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 That's what I thought, just a rare event these days. If I can check prices on the Web, you'd think they'd be able to too! Quote
Wilvies8184 Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Musik-Produktiv have been having an Ashdown clearance for a couple of months I think. My mate got a really good deal on a Rootmaster head (sold out now) and I was looking at a 300 watt OriginAL head for under £200! Enjoy your new cab - you definitely got a bargain 😃 2 Quote
petecarlton Posted February 28, 2022 Author Posted February 28, 2022 Thanks. I will! I suppose it's a bit of a sad comment on the world - or perhaps just me! - that instead of just accepting it as good fortune, I was slightly suspicious I'd been sold a pup. It sounds great, anyway! 1 Quote
Skinny Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Ashdowns own site are selling the studio 1x10 speaker stool with a storage box in the top rear too for £169. I presume it's the same cab but with a cushion nailed on top. 1 Quote
petecarlton Posted March 15, 2022 Author Posted March 15, 2022 Yes, I saw that, but I m pushing enough air between my legs as it is! Quote
BassAdder60 Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Great bargain and you’ve been lucky The hassle regarding returns ( common these days ) puts me off using anyone outside the U.K. Quote
petecarlton Posted March 19, 2022 Author Posted March 19, 2022 I understand your reluctance, but - so far - everything's working well! I doubt whether I'll be that lucky again - but no harm in looking! Quote
Teyeplayer Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Been looking for something suitable for home use whilst we clear out in prep for moving, this is perfect. Thanks for the heads up, just ordered for £126! Incredible. If that includes customs it can’t be bettered. 1 Quote
Quilly Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I remember genz Benz brought out the focus series of budget conscious bass cabs and they were both great sounding, light and ridiculously cheap. Yes occasionally you can get great bargains. 1 Quote
Teyeplayer Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 My OR110 arrived on Wednesday, what a cracking little cab! Partnered with my Warwick Gnome I have the ultimate in grab and go rigs. There’s a decent enough punch and volume level for my fortunately sympathetic drummer too. I’m sure there are better sounding rigs, but I doubt it for this price point and purpose. Really impressed. Thanks for the heads-up OP, I wouldn’t have found this if it wasn’t for your thread. 1 Quote

Did the price have any additional charges? The website suggests customs fees are included. I am very interested in getting one to set up a little rig to replace my rumble 40. Quote

Took a little longer than predicted to arrive and a few days to dispatch (had to chase a little), but still well worth it and great value. Quote
