Hello my name is Richard I own two Kramer bases

one is a Duke  travel bass

the other is a  1979 450B

possibly the only one ever;

as I made it such years ago

it plays more like a piano

Only GHS majesty’s strings long enough for the Octave set; 38”

it leaves about 1” to wind onto the  tuners

i put on a Badass. bridge and custom filed the nut and bridge tuners for Double strings.

Not sure where you are in the world, but Newtone strings in the UK will make a custom set for you. Might be worth a look when you next need a new set for the 38” beast!

When I mentioned that I made it the only 450B, I meant that I made it into an Octave Bass, 8-strings.

Kramer Guitars did not produce any 450B basses as an 8 string.
