olpmh1
I take it this bass isn't really a US bass although the seller is kind of implying it is? The serial seems wrong for a start?
Doctor J
No, it's not. You are correct. Those tuners are usually found on cheap budget instruments. The truss rod access route seems to have a black plastic collar, again, something you don't find on US Fenders, ever, and the sunburst looks quite rubbish. Two extra screws on the cheap bridge are another couple pf alarms. Fender now offer the facility to check serial numbers on their site. It'll tell you exactly the model and colour of the instrument associated with the serial. Walk away and don't look back. Reggaebass
I’m not sure if they made a US model of the 70s jazz in 2019 , did they?
Downunderwonder
Hinky. It might say Fender on it, but I doubt that is even a Squier.

Lozz196
I just checked the number, came up as unrecognised
ambient
I always think how amazing it is when people are so knowledgable about things like this. The only thing that struck me was the poor quality sunburst.
Bassfinger
The off centre block markers and poorly aligned headstock decal set off my alarm bells.
Dom in Dorset
A least all the machine heads were turned to the same point for the photos.
Bigguy2017
12 hours ago, Downunderwonder said: Hinky. It might say Fender on it, but I doubt that is even a Squier. And the blurry font for the serial number - genuine US Fender's serials are crisp and clean...
ambient
To be honest - he says grabbing his coat and making for the door - the misaligned headstock decal, poor spray job, and wonky fretboard markers, surely make it a genuine Fender? 😆
