Hi, does anyone know how to obtain a replacement pre-amp for a Stagg Upright Bass HDB-200, preferably in the UK. I believe the current Stagg model uses the same part and the gear4music and Thomann basses look the same from the outside. Stagg don't reply to messages and  their dealers can't help as it's out of warranty. Thanks, Dave

Is the preamp completely knackered? if you weren't worried about the headphone out/aux in element, you could just drop in something like an Aguilar OBP-1 or 2 preamp which has a high enough input impedance for piezo pickups.

I had one as the original on mine would burn through a battery in 20 minutes. I contacted Stagg direct ( who are based in the EU I think) and they kindly sent it FOC with new piezos too. This was around 10 years ago however.....

I had this issue last year, having bought a damaged Stagg - the end pin had gone up into the body and smashed the pre amp

A local Amp Tech installed a G-201 preamp (they are less than £10 online) and it works great and sound good. I did lose use of the headphone out, but my practise rig uses headphones from my amp anyway...
