bassicinstinct
As my search for a Tascam CDBT-1 or the like has thus far proved fruitless (see Items Wanted), I'm wondering whether I could achieve my aim via some FREE software? I'm looking for some freeware which will enable me to: - tweak the tempo up or down without affecting the pitch. - tweak the key up or down without affecting the tempo. I've found demo versions of one or two programmes which will do the trick, but the price to upgrade to the full versions means that I may as well buy the Tascam machine - if I can find one!! All/any help gratefully received as always.
Eight
Audacity? These days I mainly use it to raise the pitch of a track so that I can play along with my bass in standard tuning. Even if it does mean the vocals become chipmunks. Think it also does the tempo changes - but can't swear to that.

Either put the start and end times of the phrase, or just press the "Now" buttons at the appropriate times and click the loop box. Loop away to your heart's content. (Never fails to irritate the wife this )

I have now down loaded it and it is indeed precisely what I'm looking for, so sincere thanks again. You may very well have saved my (musical) life.
