Poplar pallet Meteora build???

I got some flooring delivered and it came on what I think is a pallet made out of Poplar which will probably make a few nice 10mm thick tops and its got me thinking of what I should build next?

 

 

I've got a few ideas for a couple of guitars one being a kind of double cut Nashville Tele-ish/Strat-ish 'Mongrel' type thing

 

 

But I'm a bit stuck on a bass, I'm thinking either Stingray, Jazz or a Meteora? Or maybe a semi-hollow? But I'm open to any other ideas of not the usual suspects......... 👍🏻

A semi hollow would be cool, reckon that pallet wood would look great as a top - very "rustic" (in a good way!)

I'm swaying more towards a Meteora Bass with a PJ pickup config but I'm definitely going to do a semi hollow soon I'm probably going to do a '51 P style......👍🏻

I'm going to do a Meteora with a soapbar pickup bit like this

 

 

Maybe Mahogany neck with Oak fretboard, reverse headstock tele style, pickguard will probably be black with chrome hardware.... 👍🏻

Following - I think you might have hit upon what is missing from Fender's design (especially the neck/headstock) with your plan...

The top might look a bit like this.... 

 

 

I don't know whether to change the orientation of the grain on this build? Maybe diagonal to follow the body shape?

 

I'm doing a lescaster that I'm going to do the top in a chevron pattern?

The pallet itself looks great as is. How about not doing anything at all and calling it a Bass Washboard?
