paulears
I've been doing some 'how to' videos lately and just completed this one on recording double basses - cheap mics, expensive mics, different techniques and you can hear a range of examples. Oddly - some of the mics I expected to do well did less well than I expected and other did better? Even if you regularly record the things, you might find it interesting? Kevsy71
Very informative (and not just about recording!), thanks for posting. Having started playing double bass earlier this year I've recently started home recording, with a bridge-mounted DPA 4099 condenser. I like the mid/upper response but will add my SM57 in the 'low' position you demonstrated to boost the low end. The room itself seems critical too, my 3m x 3m square office is not ideal so I'll take the db for a walk around the house and see what different tones that results in. Thanks again!
