Nice wee video I watched on my lunch break showing the fodera workshop.

Sorry if someone’s already posted it, I did a wee search but couldn’t see it

And for what it’s worth - only ever picked up one fodera, and played it unplugged in bass gear for a wee bit. It was nice, not ever seen many I would ever want to own apart from a few of the standard or standard specials which looked nice

Ild love to go around some of the U.K. luthiers with a camera and do similar - partly cos it would be interesting but also cos the marketing of smaller companies like this typically isn’t as good in the U.K. as US

Yeah. I want to go to Wal.

It will require me being left alone for a couple of hours and a few trips to the car with various bits of bass.

I will not be questioned and charges will not be pressed.

Basically. I want to steal a Wal. While pretending to be a filmmaker.

Your track record suggests you don’t need much persuasion  😂

My Wallet needs more persuasive methods, it’s blagging me that it’s empty - I think it’s hiding the fortune I think I have.

Without wishing to encourage your wallet further, Fodera will still build you a classic J if you ask them :)

I’m sure Wal would build him a Wal in his favourite shade of Volvo blue - but I suspect that the company being willing to build isn’t the sticking point for most of us buying a Wal or Fodera

Paul Herman - “er, no”

”IN REBEL BLUE”

Paul Herman - “errr. NO”

”WELL, YOU’VE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER!”

Yeah I did a tour of the workshop in person back in 2015 when my MG Standard 5 was nearly ready (I got to see it on the rack waiting for hardware and pickups etc).
Can confirm that everyone was as accommodating and great to chat to as they come across in the video!

Really great company.

Faced with that amount of choice in woods I feel that I be like a deer caught in the headlights; goodness knows it's hard enough at ACG.  I know what @AndyTravis means about wanting one though.

Their wood library is absolutely incredible, even after you've narrowed it down to a specific type of wood the selection and variety they present for you is insane!

Agree. I did the shop tour in 2015 on a visit to NYC. They really know their wood. At the time I had an idea of an Emperor with a walnut body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard and purpleheart top. What I ended up with was completely different.

what he said!

This beast. It ended up an Imperial with an ash body, maple neck, Amazon rosewood fingerboard, alder toneblock and a poplar burl top. I went for holly pickup covers as I always liked white pickup covers like EMG DiMarzio and Fender did in the '80s.

Here's the link to the site with all the specs: https://fodera.smugmug.com/Newborn-Gallery-Vol-V/Newborn-1309/
