Jean-Luc Pickguard
Collection on London only which would have been okay for me as I was almost tempted and would probably have snapped it up if it was still silver sparkle, but the pics are low res and I can't tell whether there's a crack or two showing on the back of the headstock. If its just been oversprayed with red car paint from a rattle can, it might come off easily with acetone and reveal the original silver sparkle finish underneath assuming it wasn't stripped first. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194962269630
MichaelDean
Bah! The silver sparkle paint is why it's a cool bass!

Owen
That was Silver Sparkle and it has been painted red? What is wrong with people?
Jean-Luc Pickguard
some people don’t know when they have a good thing. In unmolested condition this would have been worth way more (excuse the pun) than a hundred quid.
Owen
Out of interest, because I REALLY NEED a 4 string bass, what do they go for in the shiny finish?
MichaelDean
@Owen I've got an eBay alert set up for them. They really don't come up often and the last one I saw went for around £350/400.
Owen
Thanks. Not a bad price for sparkly goodness!

There was a nice looking original one on Facebook market place last week for £200.00, had I been in the market for one I would have bitten his arm off at that price! MichaelDean
Ooooof! I may have had to have a strong talk with my wife if I'd seen that!
Jean-Luc Pickguard
£200 is a very good price for one in good condition. It's lucky I didn't see it as I've run out of hiding paces for new gear.
