Courier companies are much if a muchness. That said I've been pretty happy with DPD of late. Decent price and good communication.

You could try the "Man and Van" route. It might work out cheaper and safer if you are sending a couple of instruments.

Shipley is the place for M&V quotes but don't take the first lot. Over a few days a lot will come back with lower offers. Then it's down to customer feedback.

I still use UPS, despite the shenanigans on their last delivery to me (it did turn up in the end). To date they’ve not let me down on anything I’ve shipped and pricing is reasonable (one high value bass was about £70 including full insurance - DPD quoted £254!)
