SteveXFR Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 It must be good for metal, it looks heavy enough. I certainly wouldn't want to play it for an hour. Setting this up must take some time just to adjust the four truss rods. Quote
thodrik Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Heavy guitars for heavy music. I can’t imagine even trying to play it. I would expect that the design came into fruition after Al shared a joint or two with a few folk from Rickenbacker. Silly, impractical but unique. Quote
SteveXFR Posted April 18, 2022 Author Posted April 18, 2022 The green inlays suggest its another Al Cisneros signature special. There have been rumours that he has, on occasion smoked a bit of the devil's lettuce. Quote
Jason Karloff Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Strangely attractive. 🤔 The Uma Thurman of the bass world. 1 Quote

Guest Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) I can't lokm at a doubleneck without giggling due to the images of Derek Smalls' 2 x 4 string doubleneck flashing through my mind. PS. Yes, I kmow, one neck was a shadow 8 string, but visually it was so funny. Edited April 19, 2022 by Bassfinger Quote

In it's defence though, RIC did go back to single truss rods with this one so Al might only have 2 to worry about. Quote

mr4stringz Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Should Al find his double neck with 4 and 5 string fretted necks become too unwieldy, he could always solve this quandary by…just playing a 5 string… Quote

Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 That is one hideous looking bass. I'm not surprised they had to find a passing hobo to pose with it, anyone else would have been to embarrased to be seen with it. 2 Quote

He uses lots of open string drones so a 5 string would mean fretting all those drone notes which would be tricky. Quote
SteveXFR Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 According to Sleep's socials, it's an official signature model. I'm guessing the price will be massive Quote
