Bunion Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Sounds like a P bass with valve o/d from the look of the videos I saw he’s using a Marshall super bass Edited April 19, 2022 by Bunion 3 Quote
ped Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I think jazz with some drive. 70s spacing. Fresh strings Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Athough usually used with guitar, the zvex super hard on might be appropriate 1 Quote

SumOne Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I'd guess P Bass with tone up, played with a plectrum, fresh steel strings with a low enough action that they get a bit buzzy, then some sort of overdrive then EQ'd with high-mids and treble turned up. 2 1 Quote
sorbonne Posted April 20, 2022 Author Posted April 20, 2022 Overdrive Maybe is het possible withthis one, MXR M84 Bass Fuzz Deluxe. Quote
Vin Venal Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Love Viagra Boys. Great bass tone on that song. Shades of JJ Burnel. Most pictures online show him playing a jazz bass, seemingly modified with active electronics. A few pictures of a P bass too. Backline mostly seems to be SVTs and ampeg stacks - 2018 rider stipulates this for backline. Reckon you could get this tone pretty easy with a P bass, or favouring the neck pickup on a J, into a sansamp or an OD pedal that simulates that ampeg grind. 1 Quote
sorbonne Posted April 22, 2022 Author Posted April 22, 2022 Maybe is this pedal very close. Fulltone OCD V2 Quote
Davy VB Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 I've got this picture from his pedalboard. Saw them on soundcheck yesterday, he switches back and forth between the Black pedal and the gold one on his board. The RustyBox is always on. Can someone identify these two pedals? Thanks! Quote
Guest Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 The gold pedal is an Earthquaker Hoof, the black is a Ross Distortion. Quote
