ikay Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Saw Sting at the Palladium last night and there was a bell-shaped 'thing' with wires going into it on a post behind his bass cabs. See pic below (apoligies for quality). It's been bugging me ever since! Anyone have any idea what it is? 1 Quote
NickD Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 It's a camera, placed by Copeland, Vinnie and Hakim so they could observe how much better the gig would have been had one of them been there! It wasn't there on Saturday I don't think.... it should have been.😂 1 3 Quote
skankdelvar Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 A rotary clothes line in its folded down position? Sorry, I've got nothing. 1 5 Quote
Reggaebass Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I’ve got nothing, could it be a decibel meter? Quote
fleabag Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Wouldnt a DB meter be out front rather than at the back ? Dunno... 1 Quote
Frank Blank Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Sting is clearly under some kind of lyrical surveillance… 3 Quote
mep Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 It's one of these for when he does Roxanne. 2 3 Quote
NikNik Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I reckon it's an audience cam. I've been on events where these things have been utilised. Then again, they're not so obvious as that one. Quote
Newfoundfreedom Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Yup. As above, it looks like a police siren on a pole to me, so I'm guessing it's part of the lighting for one or more of the songs. Quote
ubit Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Clearly it's a nasal hair wax remover. Sting isn't getting any younger and those pesky nose hairs can be a bit annoying when you have an image to portray. 1 1 Quote

It doesn't hurt and gets all of the hair out and leaves the inside of your nostrils like a babies bum. I have yet to find a trimmer that doesn't leave annoying stubble plus it grows back in a day or so. These are much better and last longer. My local Turkish barber does this and its not sore at all. 1 Quote
ahpook Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 (edited) It's a mandrel they use to get Sting's head out of his @rse so he can sing. Edited April 22, 2022 by ahpook 2 4 Quote
JellyKnees Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 A dildo? oh no, sorry that's bottom left... 1 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I love how these threads evolve, it’s gone from sting on stage, to nose hair 😁 1 Quote
pete.young Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Interesting, I think that's the first time I've seen the words 'Sting' and 'bell' in the same sentence without the word 'end' . 1 5 Quote
Reggaebass Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Not a fan of his music but he was good in Quadrophenia , great film Quote

NikNik Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I see they gave him back his '70s/'80s nose in that clip. Quote
