Up for sale is my 74 jazz. All original, the neck pickup is rewound by Bare Knuckle.

Solders are untouched, I cut and then re-solder the wires only (see pics).

Please note: there is a small relief of the neck and you cannot make it bigger even with truss rod 100% slacked. Now the neck is perfect, straight with low action.

Great sound, new Dunlop stainless strings. OHSC, all latches work.

The weight is 4020 grams and this is lightest jazz from this era I ever seen.

Ton of pics here:

Any questions are welcome.

Best!

Hi from Italy, interesting and beautiful bass, can you show me a picture of the neck relief? I don’t understand exactly what do you mean.

Do you have pics of neck pocket and neck heel?
best regards

Hi Roberto,

Just added a few pics to the dropbox directory.

About the neck relief: this is the distance between the frets and the bottom of the string when the first and the last frets are pressed.

Here is a pic of my bass:

As you can see, there is a hair between the neck and the strings.

You can adjust the action low or high, the neck is perfect.

More questions please ask!

Cheers,

Youlian

What happens when you adjust the truss rod? Is relief changed or there is no response from neck?

The truss if fully working. The neck is straight without the support from the trussrod.

But if you use truss rod, can you make the relief bigger?

No, you cannot. The trussrod of vintage Fenders is working only in one direction.

It is not ;) seems that yours is broken ;(

The truss is not broken. Just the neck is dead straight before putting any tension in the truss rod. The truss is fully working. That's all...

This can happen with old Fenders. I had it with a 74 Tele Deluxe. It’s not a fault, but can’t be an issue if you l prefer a higher action.
