Crusoe Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I bought an electric guitar a few months ago and having been trying to learn a few blues licks. On Tuesday I was practising some bends and snapped the high E string. Luckily I had a spare set, so I changed all the strings (they were only the cheap ones that came with the guitar - Harley Benton). Wednesday, practising the same lick and "twang" - same string went, so I've ordered half a dozen high E strings from Amazon 😄 Quote

Great song. My band closed the first set with this for many years. Bass player must be depping. Manages to get the riff by half way!! Been there many times. Quote

This cover of it from Larry McCray is a cracker too... 1 Quote

Mykesbass Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 Time to revive this thread - recorded in 2011 but only released this year, and one of my Christmas CDs, a highly recommended offering from Mavis Staples and Levon Helm, Carry Me Home. Sample of the album here: 2 Quote
pfretrock Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 Johnny Winter with Willie McTell's Broke Down Engine. From The Progressive Blues Experiment. Almost the best album I bought in 1970. Most other tracks have Tommy Shannon on bass. Quote
