Bunion Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 (edited) Nice simple solo from Sean Hurley playing with vertical horizon Nothing too fancy, just the right notes, a lovely tone, a little bit of octave at one point and nod towards whitesnake at the end. Edited May 1, 2022 by Bunion 7 Quote

nilorius Posted May 1, 2022 Author Posted May 1, 2022 I actually meant clear bass songs, but i am happy that You reply reply with different variants. So, at this case i would like to add one more track. A solo from Gary Willis - It's only music. It's amazing solo. Gary Willis - It's only music_bass_solo.mp3 4 Quote

Maude Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 John Entwistle again. Let's just say the whole of 'The Real Me' is a bass solo. 😉 I know, I know! 6 Quote
mr4stringz Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Muzz Skillings rarely gets the props he deserves for his playing on the first two Living Colour albums. Nice little bass solo on this one off Vivid. Solo around 2:20. 6 Quote

Hobbayne Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Nigel Harrisons solo in Atomic. Just an E minor pentatonic really, but I love it. Quote
Cato Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 JPJ's little breaks in Good Times Bad Times. Short, sweet and actually enhance the song. 1 Quote
ambient Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Michael Manring, the enormous room. I started transcribing and learning this a while ago. The tuning is really complicated on it, he uses the de-tuners on his Hyperbass throughout. https://music.apple.com/gb/album/the-enormous-room/1595552826?i=1595552846 1 Quote

In similar way, like the Gary Willis track you posted, these players of a high standard are lyrical and melodic when soloing around the changes or, performing solo pieces. They know in their head, exactly what the next note (or phrase) will be, rather than letting the fingers aimlessly lead the way searching for notes. 1 Quote
