yorks5stringer Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Been raving about this YT for a couple of weeks now. It's 1 hr 10 minutes of sketches, music and an interview, this week with Victor Wooten ( at 21 mins). Really surprised at the interview, Victor is so not like a Bass virtuoso in the way he talks about music. Even if you are not into funk this is a great series of shows, no-one is doing anything like this with music at the moment. Bit of a nod to the British too.... 9 6 Quote
Richard R Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 What a strange and excellent show! Thanks for that, I shall make my cooking mad daughter watch The Great British Bass Off sketch. 😎 Quote
carlitos71 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Was about to post about it… has anyone read the books? Thoughts? considering getting the first one to check out Quote
fretmeister Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 I read the first one. It's a bit odd. I think Vic's a bit of a hippy! 1 Quote
Skylar12 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 True that he seems a bit hippy but I think it brings balance to the force and a breath of fresh air in a sea of didactic instructional videos on technique. But yea, ask him to pass the pipe that he’s smoking 🤣 Quote
skidder652003 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) great sound and that horn section... Edited May 5, 2022 by skidder652003 2 Quote

Sandypjb Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 To quote an old sketch show..'This week I have mostly been listening to' Cory Wong and Vulfpeck. Fantastic talent on show including the bass chops from Sonny T and Joe Dart. Cory & The Wong Notes live @ First Avenue Feb 22 (on Youtube) is a show to behold. Quote
