WillyPete
I picked up a dirt cheap Squier JB that someone made a godawful attempt to add a fender decal to. Looked like my first airfix attempt. I got the guitar mainly to learn repairs and modding without risking my others, and was wondering if anyone knew the person who signed it. Wondered if there was any back story to them putting a bit of effort into making an Affinity look a bit like a much older jazz, like a '72 or similar. Probably just some teen but I was curious and thought I'd check around, before I sanded it down. Cheers.
WillyPete
5 hours ago, Rastus said: Yes that’s Simon Amthons He was an old school bass player Definitely worth preserving his signature Perhaps seek the advice of a sympathetic luthier who knows what he’s doing Good luck Thank you so much. Do you have any background info on him or know where I can find more? I'm glad I checked. I was worried that someone had gotten the neck signed by a hero of theirs and I didn't want to just erase history like they did with the Squier serial. I'll do what I need to preserve it or make sure it ends up with someone that will appreciate it. Edited May 4, 2022 by WillyPete
