Markbass Vintage Pre / HX Stomp FX loop

I have a pedalboard with a Tuner/mute, compressor, Markbass Vintage pre  and a Line 6 HX Stomp. 
I was running the signal in that order but then I want to use the DI out of the preamp. This is partially to protect the HX Stomp from any phantom power issues from the desk. 
So I put the HX Stomp into the FX loop of the Pre. 
I also have the option of putting the pre into the FX loop of the HX Stomp. 
in theory I can put the loop at the end of the chain in the Stomp and still get the effected signal to the DI out of the Pre and feed my amp from the Stomp line output. 
Has anyone got any advice on which would be the best solution?

I have the same exact setup, but I am curious about your signal path. If you want to use the DI out of the Markbass, why do you put the Stomp after it? In my case, it goes:

 

Tuner->Comp->HX Stomp->Markbass.
