BassAdder60
At last nights gig I played my full Ashdown rig and it sounded great. During the gig I thought to my self it may be worth exploring playing with a pick again ( I played fingers all of gig ) as compared to a smaller rehearsal room the venue room ( about 6 x larger ) you could tell that finger style thump was great but I missed the note articulation that I believe pick playing would add. It seems room size and type plays a huge part in our sound playing bass so I’m going to revert to pick playing. I stopped using the pick as at rehearsals the full depth of the tone wasn’t as good using a pick and I believe this difference in sound seems to reduce as the room size increases ? Anyone else noticed that ? Edited May 8, 2022 by BassAdder27
Downunderwonder
The rehearsal room has a lovely warm bass support to it like the sun streaming in your window. So much so that I have to turn down the low end. Then I set up somewhere else and wonder where all the bass went.
