I'd probably 'agree with him', he doesn't know how you want the two signals blended to create the sound you have imagined, the single DI removes the guesswork on his part. If I'm operating a desk, there's enough to worry about getting the band to sound cohesive, and providing IEM and foldback mixes, without trying to work out how an individual musician wants their FOH mix to sound. Dad3353 Posted May 23, 2022 Share Posted May 23, 2022 It was very common, in the rigs I've had to handle, to have two 'bass' channels anyway; one for the DI, the other for the mic on the cab. Two DI's wouldn't bother me at all; I'd simply pach the second DI in the stead of the cab mic.
