attackbass Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Yeah I don't think there's anything wrong with it, other than being a big powersupply on my board. I tucked the wire safely away to avoid any accidents. More of an issue was having to run two power adaptors for other units and not always having enough plugs at venues or in really awkward places. Also just set up and pack down times, sometimes it's a real rush and I just want to be able to make that as easy as possible. If it was just the Quad I maybe wouldn't have bothered and just bought a spare adapter... Quote

I mean, my QC is an early one from the first batch of consumer models. (It might even be a pre-release model!) OGQC I heard the earlier ones are better. Obv that is a joke. 1 Quote

Owen Posted February 11 Posted February 11 What is also a joke is posting while waiting for my pizza in an area with very poor signal. 4 Quote

Yeah, mine's a solidly made block with an IEC mains cable, I have no issues with it at all. Quote

I know that folk had complained about the original power supply, but I didn't know that Neural had upgraded it, that's brilliant actually. Good on ya Neural! I've been building a few new presets recently that, when done, I'll put up on the Cortex app. 2 Quote
attackbass Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Got the Cioks Sol today and just set it up with the QC and I am amazed by how quiet the device is now. I thought the QC was quiet with the standard power supply but it definitely a next step up. I'm assuming that this is due to the Cioks being grounded. Either way very pleased I took the plunge. Now I just need to figure out if I fix it under the board or on top... it looks quite cool! 1 Quote
tayste_2000 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Mine arrived today, can I check do any of you guys get noise on the headphone out? I’m getting an off putting amount of noise and it seems to be relatively common. Using the stock power supply but with the volume turned down and the input unplugged it noise is still there, so it’s just in the unit itself. I can get round by using my Element or using another output and having it in mono, but kinda defeats a lot of the purpose for me. Quote

If you're getting white noise out of the box though, doesn't sound right. With a closed noise gate, mine is as quite as you could want it to be. Quote
tayste_2000 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I’m going to have a deeper play when I get in but it doesn’t seem connected to any IO levels. The unit has this noise regardless of output volume, or if anything is plugged in. I can even hear ground noise disappear when I touch my bass but this persists. Also doesn’t do it out of the other outputs. But I’m going to try sending some of the other outputs to grounded devices and see if that helps. Just my main use case is this on its own with a bass and headphones, so the first hour with it has been a little disappointing. I can use it with my element no issue but I really wanted an all in one do anything device. Captures of the SGFX Beta, Mojo Hand Cream Pie and JHS Punchline will be available soon so it’s not all bad news Quote
attackbass Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Is this due to the power supply not being grounded and it relies on the amp or whatever it is plugged into to ground it? Quote
