Has all our gigs on for rest of this year. Good on you, although I once turned down a covers band because they played Mr. Blue Sky. It's one of those songs to me that sets my teeth on edge. 1

Then again, I see the reaction from the audience and how much they love it and it helps me no end.
Thunderpaws
I’ll be playing with my band, Sula Sula, at Behind the Wall in Falkirk on 9th Sept. Two half hour sets (first at 8 ) playing mostly originals with the odd cover. Won’t have any amps or drums mic’d up, so just vocals through the PA so it’ll be interesting to see how the sound goes.
JapanAxe
Not exactly tonight, in fact a fortnight Saturday (17th September), but it's a ticketed event so it's only fair you all get fair warning! I'm back at the Old Court in Windsor (aka Windsor Arts Centre) with Rebel Heroes Bowie Tribute, hopefully back on guitar now that our bass player's wrist is on the mend. Expect 2 hours of classic Bowie, from sing-along anthems to fan-pleasing deep cuts. Tickets available here. Some pics of recent shows to whet your appetite: Backstage with Woody Woodmansey:
Franticsmurf
On Saturday I have a last minute dep role in a trio fronted by a mate and ex-band member. No drums, 50% backing tracks and 2 vocalist guitarists plus me on the bass. I have some idea of what the set will look like but my experience with my mate is that it will be largely busking with random arrangements - it's why he was allowed to leave the band. 😀 It was annoying and inappropriate in the band setting but this is his own project and I'm approaching it as a favour (which I'm happy to do) and in the role of paid sideman (which helps me cope with the less professional elements).

Paul S
My band Toredown are playing at the Shamrock pub in Ipswich tomorrow evening 23rd. Usually kick off around 9pm. If you like blues rock and guitar solos you'll like us Our favourite place to play, only small but we go down really well with a lot of people coming especially to see us. It has very recently changed hands and it was a huge relief when the new owners decided to keep it going as an irish bar and music pub.

The main photo was from a shoot we did for the 3rd album, it was used on the CD inside cover. We added the band name graphics and the venue put their details on it. A guy called Trevor Palin took the shots and then he and Dave (the band leader) worked on the digital stylisation of it. Dave's also an artist, so had a clear concept of what he wanted for it. This is the album cover. You wouldn't think they were both taken at a National Trust place in Cheshire.

moley6knipe
Tonight! Private party with the 5 piece covers band. Without the singer/rhythm guitarist… covid! This’ll be interesting. Drinking much honey and lemon. Many vocalzone tablets. But death or glory, he who dares wins Rodney etc

Franticsmurf
When does depping become a regular gig?😃 I'm playing with The Long Road tomorrow night and found out at last night's rehearsal that rather than it being a one-off as I thought when I was asked to play, they're planning more dates. They are a very good bunch of musicians, though. Then Merthyr on Saturday with a duo (Getting Even - same singer as tomorrow) to make up the numbers as they were booked as a trio! I've been the third man with Getting Even a few times recently. A mixture of pop, C&W (shudder) and anything the singer thinks of. Apart from the cowboy songs, it's good fun.
