My last gig of 2024 is with In Isolation, and will also be In Isolation's farewell performance as singer Ryan is calling it a day.

It will be at the Salutation, in Nottingham on Saturday 14th December. Doors are at 7.00pm and we'll be on shortly after that as we will be playing an extra-long set and it's Spellbound Goth Night at 9.00pm afterwards.

Tickets are just £4.00 and if you'd like to come and see our final gig it is highly recommended that you get one as they are selling fast.

This Saturday, Nine Lives play another new venue for us.  I don't know why I'm even mentioning it here due to remoteness, but we'll be playing at the St Olaf Golf Hotel in Cruden Bay (effin' where?).

Turn up loud enough and I might hear you. I'm in Stonehaven on Saturday.

BTW is that date correct? Saturday is the 7th- 11th is a Wednesday.

Sorry! Just realised it's the typeface giving my eyesight a hard time. It IS the 7th!

😄

Just seen this - the Ryedale Blues Club is based at the Milton Rooms in the centre of Malton, N. Yorks.

Having seen the illustrious names on the schedule, I’m already getting imposter syndrome 7 months

before I play there with The Alligators!

Tonight, for what it's worth (given the geographic distribution of the membership of this forum), Nine Lives playing at the Tolbooth in Ellon.  That's a wee town north of Aberdeen, fact fans :D

First show for BandKamp, something of a loose coalition of musos. We rehearse an album, gig it once and only once, and then move on, no matter how good (or bad) it was. We're starting with the glorious Blonde on Blonde, timed for the Chalomet movie opening the same weekend. 4.00 Sunday afternoon slot feels really nice 👍

What a fantastic idea! Let us know how it goes…or doesn’t!

Thanks Mick, a few of us did a trial run about 12 years ago but kids, work, and then lockdown got in the way. It was resurrected over a few pints mid last year, and is really very satisfying. It's resolutely about the album/LP as an entity, but we're most certainly not a tribute act we play the album it as we play it on feel and instinct, not trying to replicate the exact sound. But we play it in album order, no deviations, no filler/guest tracks, no encore etc (which with BoB presents something of a challenge given the findal track on the album). Given our recent comms you might be able to take a guess at number 3 in the list, while number 2 is a significant departure from Dylan. A funny thing about it is just how much we've all come to appreciate Blonde on Blonde as an absolute work of art, passion, and vision, as opposed to a collection of mid-60 folk rock songs 👍

Ah but when will you be doing this format for the legendary first 'Cars' album?  ;)

This is an awesome idea.  Reminds me of my 40th birthday - I put on a gig, we played first (obvs, I'd be ratarsed later!), then one of my former bands played (and got me up for the obligatory number).  Finally, one of my favourite local bands at the time took to the stage and unbenownst to me had decided to learn the entirety of Weezer's debut album (the "Blue" album - one of my favourites) and play it start to finish!  And they got me up to play along for Buddy Holly, awesome!

Also saw a Pink Floyd tribute band play the entirety of Dark Side from start to finish.  That was epic.
