zbd1960
I use Allianz for all of mine. There are others. If you're a member of MU then you can get cover through them I believe.
NJE
I always put mine on the household insurance for home and away cover as well as accidental damage. They were specific named items and I made sure they knew it was going to be used for gigging and out in public and was still covered. None of the companies we have used over the past 10 years have had an issue and it was a tiny amount added.
fretmeister
New Moon for me. Lots cheaper than Allianz
MacDaddy
£2,000.00 included with my MU membership.
funkypenguin
I can't cover my bass on my contents insurance so I use Allianz, and they cover both my basses and my rig, and that covers everything including unattended vehicles. Ben
Woodinblack
New moon here
MyNameIsMark
I have an email from Allianz saying their cover includes leaving stuff unattended on/by the stage "under the supervision of CCTV / venue staff". Plus I got unattended vehicles, all be it in a fixed luggage compartment. Both important in my opinion.

I've made claims from them for work related things and it's been well handled. New Moon are agents and the cover is actually provided by Ecclesiastical Insurance - another very big player with a good reputation.
Bassfinger
If you join the MU you get 2 grands worth of free instrument cover. Mine are itemised on the house insurance, but when out and about that MU cover leaves me warm and fuzzy inside.
Oomo
Not for bass, but I've used https://www.larkmusic.com/ for the last 10 years or so. Haven't had to make a claim yet, but their price/cover has been great.
toneknob
New Moon as well. I like that you can specify home/UK/Worldwide cover per item. As with all insurance it all boils down to the process and experience when you need to claim - which thankfully I've never had to.
bass_dinger
I used to use my household insurance, but was slightly worried that they never asked about the instruments in question. "A guitar " is not the same as "a 1995 Lowden O22 with custom neck and L R Baggs pickup ". So I will try the options specified here
bass_dinger
I decided to use New Moon, and was very impressed. They offered zero excess - they will pay out in full in the event of a claim. I can also switch instruments between home use and outdoor use, with no administration charge, should I decide that I want to take out my acoustic guitar. So, New Moon is my choice.
