GremlinAndy
In Sheffield there is a non-profit organisation based in an old school. (The one featured in “the Full Monty” as it happens) “The Burton Street foundation”. http://burtonstreet.org.uk/spaces/ Sheffield probably isn’t the location you might be thinking of, but I’m sure there are places like this all over the country. A short break in that part of the world combined with a bass bash sounds lovely to
ped
Sheffield is probably a good shout actually, fairly central for a lot of our members
TheGreek
When arranging the Herts Bashes I found that people were reluctant to travel 20 miles to the event. Whether people would travel from all four corners of the country is debatable. I would be reluctant to travel to Sheffield from Hertfordshire. Re: the cost of events, Bassface2K10 and I met the initial costs for the event - drinks, food, raffle prizes, etc - knowing that the money wouldn't be coming back to us, as all the proceeds went to the venue (what had been our local club). In effect we both paid around £50 each to put on the event. If somebody is paying for a venue they're going to need a lot of attendees just to break even. Woodinblack
We have had some long distance visitors at the south west bash, but I agree, it can be tricky getting people to travel
ped
Sell tickets in advance and if you don’t hit the target, refund everyone?
