Clarky
The singer/frontman in my band was also a bassist in the past (at least 10 years ago). He was having a studio clearout and found these unopened DR "Marcus" 40-100 strings which he has kindly sent my way. Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to roughly how old these are, and whether they are SS or nickel? Intriguingly Google Images does not come up with a single picture matching this design, making me suspect they're 20+ years old. And yes I could open them but thats not so much fun! Clarky
Having created the single most boring thread ever on BassChat with a reply count that didn't trouble the scorer (can I get a badge @ped?) I can confirm that they are very old Fat Beams, probably from the early 2000s. There is no date but a stamp referring to a mysterious Maria. Altogether "Maria, say it loud and there's music playing! Say it soft and it's almost like praying. Maria, I'll never stop saying Maria." Edited June 17, 2022 by Clarky 1

Baloney Balderdash
The last 4 digits in that stamp says 2101, so my guess is they are in fact from 2101, that is from the future, the second year of the next century to be exact, which is to say (minus) -79 years old.
