Clarky
I think he has more than 1 headless Status, according to Wiki. Maybe releasing some cash? Think Quo are supposed to be touring this year?? Maybe he is just thick-skinned?

crazycloud
Nice collectable or historical piece for a fan, but I'd rather have my S2000. Being played by a name has little interest for me, but I hope whomever gets it is a fan and really loves it. Especially if they play it and it's not just a prop in someone's office. SuperSeagull
Seems an extortionate sum to me and I say that as a big fan of Rhino, Quo and Status. I owned a Charger for a while apparently with a neck removed from one of Rhinos, nice bass but prefer my S2.

Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'd rather have one of Alan Lancaster's mustangs.

OliverBlackman
The LPB P bass they have of his is much more appealing
Mickeyboro
He is actually a humble chap. He came to the dressing room (tent) of a friend of mine, Deke Leonard, to get a single signed - Man’s Sudden Life - that he’d bought as a teenager. Unusual for a bill-topper, I was impressed.

skychaserhigh
Alan Lancaster's basses were auctioned off by Bonhams not so long ago.
grenadillabama
One of my favorite singles is "Pictures of Matchstick Men" and I used to play it. Was that a common Fender bass ?

PaulWarning
much as Rhino is an accomplished bass player, Quo were never the same without Alan Lancaster, it just seemed all wrong to me, a headless bass and finger playing 😝
Steve Browning
I'm gigging with his cousin on Saturday. I will make enquiries.
vincbt
Or if you’re short 3k you could settle for his P bass https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/fender-precision-bass-1965-ex-rhino
mxm
Didn’t he use an Alembic with Dexys ?!! Always thought it looked slightly odd amongst the dungarees (but, check the boss version of ‘There There My Dear’ on YT somewhere)…class.
2pods
I loved the sound he had on "Road Noise", the live Judie Tzuke album. ISTR it was his birthday, and he played his derrière off. I thought that was either an 80s Aria, but probably was his Alembic as he had one early doors.
